Personal Protection Dogs Specialists

Experience, Credentials & Commitments

The founders of A1K9 are some of the most experienced personal protection dog trainers in the world, a vocation that has been a passion for 30 years.

Over 100 Years Experience in Dog Training

With more than 70 years' experience between the founding directors alone, Charles Wall and Gaynor Probert pioneered many of the techniques now used in this industry and remain at the cutting edge of its development. The combined A1K9 team boasts over 100 years of experience due to the passing on of hard-earned knowledge and expertise in dog training to all our staff.

Charles Wall takes ultimate responsibility for the training programme at A1K9, setting the highest standards in the development of both dogs and staff. Each team member at A1K9 is put through a structured, rigorous training regime to ensure they master the process of training and conditioning the protection dogs that we supply. Under the careful guidance of the company's two master trainers - Charles and Gaynor - each member of staff is trained to achieve the high standards that A1K9 are known for worldwide.

The result of A1K9's commitment to staff development, intensive training, and conditioning programmes is simple: A1K9 consistently produces the best trained and most reliable personal and family protection dogs in the world, whilst also through their range of training courses, helping many individuals to get the best out of their pet canine companions.

Our Commitment to Quality Dogs

A1K9 are specialists in protection dog training and has been training and supplying family and personal protection dogs for over 30 years. Our commitment to training these specialist dogs has underpinned our continuous growth over the years and has helped us ensure we seek the latest improvements in training methods. The changes we make are reflections of the society in which our dogs are trained to live in. Refinement of training practices and upholding standards is key to keeping A1K9 at the forefront of this industry.

All of the dogs purchased by A1K9 are from trusted and rigorously selected breeders across Europe. All sources have proven bloodlines and this helps ensure that their dogs are the best candidates to become the finest protection dogs. Each dog is assessed firsthand by A1K9 directors before going through a rigorous testing process to evaluate temperament and agility. Thorough veterinary checks are then completed, including hip and elbow x-rays, all of which are completed before purchase and import to the exceptional A1K9 facilities.

Dogs pre selected for A1K9's protection dog programme  receive environmental conditioning, socialisation, basic obedience training and  protection work aptitude and foundation training  from seven to eight months and will come to the A1K9 facility with this as a grounding. Once with us, all dogs are then included in our canine training programme for further obedience and protection. Each programme is a minimum of 12 months, ensuring that all dogs are trained to the highest standards of protection and properly conditioned for their future role as a well rounded companion and protector.

To offer a comparison, typically, a UK police basic general purpose police dog training course is roughly 12 weeks in duration!

As a starting point with all clients, we ensure that from the off, excellent customer service is given.

In order to be sure that all clients take home the right dog for their family, we take into consideration the client's lifestyle, personality, home environment, family and individual requirements for additional security.  We are committed to going the extra mile to cater to your requirements, not just at the point of purchase but throughout your dog's lifetime.

Our high levels of customer care and satisfaction with clients have become part of the foundations upon which A1K9 was built, and will continue to grow into the future.

Maintaining Your Protection Dog

To maintain the obedience and skill that your protection dog has been trained to, we advise that your dog goes through refresher training, at least annually. This ensures that your dog stays agile, responsive, and at the top of their game.

If this is something you are thinking about, why not book your dog in with us whilst on your holidays? This removes the need for kennels and gives your dog the opportunity to brush up on their skills in a familiar environment.

If you are thinking about purchasing your protection dog, take a look at what A1K9 can offer you. Our testimonials also give high praise and recommendation.
