Trained Family & Personal Protection Dogs
A1K9s highly trained family and personal protection dogs are fully controllable at all times due to the intensive obedience and protection training that they will have received at A1K9. This in-depth training prepares the dogs to deal with everyday life as well as real-life conflict, allowing them to confidently defend their owner, family, and property with a measured and conclusive response in order to neutralise an impending threat.
From the initial meeting to a client taking their new dog home, much emphasis is placed on ensuring that a client is tutored on how to get the most from their A1K9.
As most of our trained dogs go to live with families, many with young children, we are constantly assessing the dogs that we have in training to ensure suitability for their future role.

It is imperative for us to be 100% confident that our protection dogs will fit into a normal family lifestyle. All are chosen for their temperament and many have grown up in environments with children; as a result, our family protection dogs also double up as loving, friendly family pets.
At A1K9, we are also mindful that children love to run around and play ball, and can be very noisy. We teach and condition our dogs to understand this is not a threat. We do not take chances with the safety of children and we will not place a dog into a home with children unless we are happy that the dog is well-suited to this new home environment.

Selecting Your Family or Personal Protection Dog
Having taken the time to understand te requirements of both you and your family, we will suggest the best-suited candidates for you from our fully trained family and personal protection dogs. With between thirty and forty dogs in training at any one time, we have a wide selection of dogs to choose from, to ensure the perfect fit.

The Handover Process At A1K9
After successfully selecting your new personal protection dog or obedience-trained dog, we will go through the process of handover with you. We insist on a minimum of a two-day handover for all of our trained personal protection dogs, or one day in the case of one of our obedience-trained dogs.
This time is invaluable for you and your family to establish an initial bond with your new dog, whilst being shown by our experienced trainers how to master, control and care for your new friend and canine protector.
